Zachor Society

The Zachor Society helps keep the memory of the Holocaust alive through its support of the Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach, a Committee of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation.

The Society, whose name means “remember,” recognizes donors whose contributions help maintain this sacred landmark in our community.

The threats to the Jewish people are not the same as during 1933 – 1945, but today’s perils require us to speak out and to support the Holocaust Memorial’s perseverance in ensuring a lasting chain of memory.

With an annual gift of $5,000 or more, Zachor Society members help preserve the actual structure of the Holocaust Memorial and ensure the mission of making real the call to “never forget” – not just for today, but for all time. Donations enable the Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach to welcome more than 100,000 visitors annually, including 30,000 schoolchildren. At the Holocaust Memorial, students are taught to examine their own hearts, to learn the lessons of what is right, and to stand up against intolerance, bigotry, hatred and anti-Semitism. The Holocaust Memorial also opens its doors to teachers, college students and professors and has an international following. We implore all visitors to learn from the past, cultivate empathy and practice intolerance toward any kind of prejudice.

The Holocaust Memorial is maintained solely through the support of generous donors.
